Insect Prison REMAKE combat rework v0.75/v0.76


This is just a more in depth and visual explanation of the Combat Rework from version v0.75 as purposed and requested:

The new combat works based on a set of rules where each action intercepts a single action. The exception here are the actions that operate at the same level, like the Fast and Ranged Attacks and the Grab and Parry Actions.

The relationship between actions is as follows:

General rules:

  • Having an action intercepted means that the action is canceled and its effects ignored
  • Fast Attacks deal x1.0 damage (intercepts Grab/Parry)
  • Heavy Attacks deal x1.5 damage (Intercepts Guard)
  • Ranged Attacks deal x0.8 damage (Intercepts Grab/Parry)
  • Guard intercepts Fast/Ranged Attacks
  • Parry intercepts Heavy Attacks
  • Grab deals 5% lust damage and can trigger H events (Intercepts Heavy Attacks)

Player rules:

  • Combat actions can only target a single enemy
  • The combat action is only activated on the targeted enemy turn
  • Actions on self are activated immediately
  • Using Parry against an Heavy Attack will stun the enemy for 1 turn
  • Equipment adds unique effects that slightly manipulate the rules in the player’s favor
  • Can’t use Grab action

Enemy rules:

  • Can’t use the same action twice in a row
  • The last used action will be displayed on the enemy card
  • Will only use Grab, Guard, Fast and Heavy Attack actions (exception only for boss type enemies)
  • When stunned, will skip the next turn
  • Grab will ignore all Guard and Parry
